Hidden away in Venice, CA, in a space that once belonged to Joni Mitchell, sits Beacon Street Studios. Its an artistic space where the independent spirit of the folk movement has morphed in the creative compound where composers John Nau, Andrew Feltenstein and the Beacon Street team work their musical magic.
The two would meet, some 20 years ago, while Feltenstein was working on songs in a studio and Nau was there to score a film. Becoming fast friends and collaborators, they decided to open their own studio – a decision which paid off rather quickly as they secured a ready stream of commercial and film projects.
Commercially, Beacon Street Studios collaborates with all the major brands; Nike, Gatorade, Apple, Samsung, Amazon, Burger King, Coke, Verizon, and Google (to name a few). Beacon Street Studios, is no stranger to being recognized for the caliber of work they bring to the table having won Clio Awards, Sports Emmy’s, Cannes Lions and being nominated for a primetime Emmy Award for the title sequence to SPOILS OF BABYLON on IFC.
Being at the apex of the advertising industry, Nau and Feltenstein were eager to forge ahead in film and television. Their credits include: ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES starring Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate, CASA DE MI PADRE starring Will Ferrell, BETTER LIVING THROUGH CHEMISTRY starring Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell, THE BRONZE for director Bryan Buckley, SLEEPING WITH OTHER PEOPLE starring Jason Sudeikis and Allison Brie, the Lauren Greenfield film KIDS AND MONEY, the BIG LOVE Christmas Album, and BACHELORETTE for director Leslye Headland, THE HOUSE with Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, THE PIRATES OF SOMALIA for Bryan Buckley with Sony Pictures, ACTION POINT starring Jonny Knoxville, the documentary ANIMATION OUTLAWS and the list goes on and on.
Most recently they finished BARB AND STAR GO TO VISTA DEL MAR with Kristin Wiig, Annie Mumolo and Jamie Dornan.
Currently we are working on an animated feature with NETFLIX.
